Looking forward to a couple of short working weeks, this week only Monday to Wednesday so I can enjoy the end of the week off. My older brothers birthday next week so we'll be off to Sandown Park racecourse for their big evening meeting on Thursday, hopefully will be as enjoyable as last month at Ascot. Will have Friday off too and paid which is lucky as I am absolutely skint. I need to improve things once again as I move forward into the second half of the year.
Took the days off, Thursday was pouring with rain, I still got out to meet Graham, John and Bob and headed to Sandown for the evening horse racing but the night wasn't great, no winners and I lost more and more. Made it home late, sore head and nothing to eat.
End of the week just chilling at home, at least contacted a gorgeous friend Sharon who "might" be going to Sarah's wedding do, if she is I might get a lift down and a cuddle which would be nice.
Quiet weekend watching the Monaco GP plus writing a bit more. As of Tuesday once I head back to work I will have no money and also there are 10 MONTHS of road works and inconvenience ahead.
Started off as a self help page seeking a change in lifestyle and attitude since 2016, have kept it going through into 2020-22 as it helps to get stuff off my chest, encouragement, mental health and achievements however big or small they may be. Keep the faith. Be Nice. Stay Alive.

2018 DIARY WEEK TWENTY 14/05 -- 20/05
This "diary" was started as a personal journey to help my well being, a few years ago I was really struggling and while I am still here, and things have changed I do find myself continuing to struggle going forwards. One of the things I used this for initially was to try and change my lifestyle and health, good intentions to begin with but don't feel as though I've really been true to myself as I continue to relapse into old habits.
Time to try something new, STOPP was something I found while doing some online research earlier.

STOP !
Just pause for a moment
TAKE A BREATH
Notice your breathing as you breathe in and out.
OBSERVE
- What thoughts are going through your mind right now?
- Where is your focus of attention?
- What are you reacting to?
- What sensations do you notice in your body?
PULL BACK - PUT IN SOME PERSPECTIVE
- What's the bigger picture?
- Take the helicopter view.
- What is another way of looking at this situation?
- What advice would I give a friend?
- What would a trusted friend say to me right now?
- Is this thought a fact or opinion?
- What is a more reasonable explanation?
- How important is this? How important will it be in 6 months time?
- It will pass.
PRACTISE WHAT WORKS - PROCEED
- What is the best thing to do right now?
- Best for me, for others, for the situation?
- What can I do that fits with my values?
- Do what will be effective and appropriate.

2018 DIARY WEEK NINETEEN 07/05 -- 13/05
A scorching Bank Holiday Monday to end the week off and still feeling the after effects of the sunburn from Bognor. Will be back to Work on Tuesday (Booo), so getting myself ready for that, at least in couple of weeks will be off again for Graham's birthday and a night out at Sandown Races although not got a lot of money for then either but will see what we can do.
So Monday came and went, won and lost some money as usual, need to pay some cash into the bank tomorrow as a result. Might be ok for this week but really going to struggle for the next few after that. At least I have got a few bits in for myself to see us through the week, and after doing my housework for another week I had a little time to get one of my old trains out for a spin. Been many years since this came out of it's box, my first N Gauge loco bought by the father about 40 years ago, and it's still running even after all this time dormant. Really surprised, I think it's time I thought about building a small layout, already have a small test track.
So that small piece of fun was desperately trying to make up for the rest of the failures this week. At least in a couple of weeks time I'll be paid again, and going out with my Brother. Few birthdays too next week so will get writing some cards, also had a nice note from my Aunt Margaret and also Uncle which is nice, family is very important to me.
Try and have a good week if you can.

2018 DIARY WEEK EIGHTEEN 30/04 -- 06/05

MY BIRTHDAY TO ME
MONDAY 30th APRIL 2018.
Happy 49th Birthday.
Now let's try and make it through to the big 50!
Has been a difficult and emotional start to the week, although nice to have the week off from work and not missing the commute. Life is still a big struggle, wasn't sure if I can get through today, this week, next month right now, and then it's beginning to improve albeit slowly. Massive thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday on Monday and big up to Stephanie with who I have a lovely chat and she also posted up some wonderful funny images on some of our facebook pages. [see this link]
Tuesday was very quiet indeed, preparing things to go out for the day on Wednesday to Ascot and then packing a bag for Thursday to head off down to Bognor to see Sarah. All good so far, and the weather is improving too. Had a great day out with my brother for Ascot races, winning the opener was a wonderful start and we picked up a few winners and places along the way. Bob got a few winners and then it got silly with us moving onto shorts (Jack D for me, large Rums elsewhere) and as the weather cleared so the evening spent in an Ascot bar called The Stag. Got home late, rough, hungover but happy and having to try and sleep ready for an early start on Thursday down to Bognor.
