Another early start on Monday, got in and missed out on breakfast though just cracked on instead. Really felt like a long day today, and wasn't much fun. Then someone told me it was "Blue Monday" which I always thought was just a song by New Order in the 1980s however seems it's a significant depressive day and that might fit right in with how I feel today. According to the formula, Blue Monday always falls on the third Monday of the New Year. Blue Monday is the term given to the one day of the year when Brits are supposedly the most miserable.
Last year, Mind wrote a statement in regards to Blue Monday on their website reading: “Here at Mind, we think [Blue Monday] is dangerously misleading. Those of us who live with depression know that those feelings aren’t dictated by the date. Implying that they are perpetuates the myth that depression is ‘just feeling a bit down,’ something that doesn’t need to be taken seriously.”
Rest of week was much the same old routine, chatting with the likes of Will Cheung and arranged a meeting up on Sunday will be good, also had some nice chats with my old boss during our weekly session of Holby City too. Then I even had a conversation with an ex and meeting up with her for my birthday which will be lovely if it actually happens but at least it gives me plans for the future and that must be useful for the benefit of my mental health. Arranged a night out with lads which was going to be down in Bournemouth however that has proved to be a logistical problem for people coming further afield and we are back to an afternoon / evening session in Richmond and Twickenham instead. Which is good as it's great fun to get the lads out and although one or two might miss it there should be a good crowd. Some are also saying Yes to coming to Ascot end of April for my 50th. So I need to save for that and sort out a few things.
Another week, still very tired, Monday seemed to be hectic with loads happening but not sure I was feeling productive, at least was able to smash some breakfast and pick up some lunch so just another eight working days to get through till paid. Still worried about a message from a friend Mark the other day trying to contact him and see that they are fine. Tuesday was full of meetings and generally trying to work through a lot of issues both work and home. Currently don't see a big difference in my week to week plan, it's early of course but I need to get out and do something. Have booked a few days off but they are not until March and April so quite a way off in the meantime I shall look to do something locally maybe a trip to library or an overdue trip to the Crematorium if it's not too cold.

And so to Wednesday the middle of the week, didn't start well, but will have to put that out of my mind if I want to move on and get some sleep. Still busy enough at work, finding issues, fixing small things for others but now and again I mess up and don't mean too but it happens and I upset myself. Updated other blogs for me and Dad, racing update at Kempton tonight will see if we can get a result there, also looked at tickets for Ascot in April/May they are £16 each so need to get a couple soon and some more later on? Slightly better evening despite not having any success at the race meeting I have at least done everything on my to do and picked up a few quid which will go to Annie Birthday card and that is covered now which is wonderful.
Lets see what Thursday has in store for us. Another busy day, but made it through, received another model train that I bought and all being well it works ... Which it does and that's just fantastic very happy with this one, and will put it away safely. Friday we got in nice and early having breakfast, a busy day feel like we got plenty done plus we nipped out for a pint lunchtime although meant had nothing for lunch. Quiet weekend in store will probably just watch the snooker and chill out with some music.
Another week, it's only the second of the year but it feels like it's a lot longer than that. The morning trains are back to how they were now that everyone is back to work and the schools have started so it's a packed commute in on Monday and Tuesday. At least on Monday I arrived early enough to snag some breakfast but generally had a poor day, it really felt like it dragged and I was certainly feeling emotional and upset later on. Though had a nice surprise email from my Cousin Jo which cheered me up and finally got around to replying to Uncle John too. Family it's the most important thing.

Tuesday, caught the slow service in as didn't feel in a rush. Then had to suffer yet another Fire Alarm which is the 3rd in the last month, and I know my feet/legs will be sore tomorrow. Evening fairly quiet watching Holby having a chat with Cathy again and then bed I think and hopefully much better on Wednesday. Actually still quite stiff and sore on Wednesday morning which wasn't a surprise but did walk into the office and maybe will be better by the weekend. Loads of meetings and a Sales Conference on Thursday so it's been very noise in the building. Trying to keep busy though.

Updated all the blogs and ahead of things on Dad's one, the NFL games have been updated on mine and we had the first of the Kempton midweek meetings which was almost a success....actually a 1 point loss. Bought a few more bits and pieces on eBay too including another addition to my N Gauge collection which is growing again. Shall need to get out some track and have a play soon. Made it through to the end of the week, work is busy but it's feeling like no real plan. Couple more weeks and we're paid then onwards towards days off in April / May.
Welcome to 2019, and what a year it's going to be? Well I'll be turning 50 if I manage to reach end of April and it'll be time to look back on my achievements in those years? nope, nothing. Oh well. Happy New Year all.
New Year day starts us off, nothing to shout about really and another loss for Wimbledon (2-1 away at Portsmouth) so we back down the bottom of the table once more.
Back to the office on Wednesday, commute slightly easier for the point of view of having a seat in the morning and coming back on the empty Farnham service, this will change when next week begins but for the next day or two it's fine. Updating other blogs for January and looking ahead to the weekend and an FA Cup 3rd round where the mighty Dons beat Fleetwood 3-2 and are into the 4th Round draw on Monday night ... Do I feel better? Not really, but keeping busy and that does help a lot I believe.
Got no money, feel tired and cold always, sorry it's a moaning start to the year but I'm just being honest about how I feel and seeing if I can create a way out of this. Right now it's a struggle. Will need to try and kick start being healthier again, I sort of gave up on that last year, although doing plenty of walking now I need to up my efforts.
