2020 DIARY WEEK SEVENTEEN 20th APR -- 26th APR Isolated WFH #5

The Government have confirmed that we'll remain isolated for a further three weeks at least and with daily deaths at around 800+ we still not seeing a downturn yet. Therefore continue to work at home, keeping busy and also looking further ahead to a time when we might be able to plan some time out. Gave Graham a call and had a chat which was nice, they seem well enough and enjoying the garden and sunshine hopefully can get over to them this summer sometime. Working Monday was boring as usual, finding issues, and not feeling all that great, but got through it, probably want to go out tomorrow and get few bits in. Slow week until paid on Friday but at least I've enough to see me through.
Tuesday some sleep which was nice, missed couple of shows that I had saved, but can catch up on i-player later so that is fine. Left ear is still blocked up and doesn't seem to be improving even though I using ear drops. Been out today and picked up a few things in pound land shop, couple dinners, and other supplies so will be fine till weekend. A quiet evening without any Holby City to watch so shall have to find something else to amuse myself, listened to some podcasts. Wednesday my left ear is still causing me issues and some discomfort, but we will see how the day goes. Been for a short walk and put the bins out (almost a highlight for the week nowadays), not much on TV so listened to music and tried to sleep. Thursday the plan is to pop out to get some shopping in Iceland for the weekend which I managed to do although missed a couple of bits but we'll be fine. Lovely sunny day shame I'm stuck indoors for most of it now working ha ha, though we've got some entertainment on the tele tonight and then it's Friday! Been paid so managed to sort out rent and bills, then went out early morning to Tesco and got some shopping in. Should suffice for the coming week with the only outstanding supplies needed are a nice bottle of wine for my birthday next Thursday. Working Friday was not much fun, several problems but nothing too drastic for us in the end. Weekend will be quiet, got dinners, do some housework and try to relax.

2020 DIARY WEEK SIXTEEN 13th APR -- 19th APR Isolated WFH #4

Beginning this week with Easter Monday, though this years Easter break has been very different to the one that I would have originally planned. Stayed home and updated a lot of pages on blogs but also very importantly began cataloguing my model trains in all gauges which was long overdue. Also gave us a welcome opportunity to give them a run / test and a clean. They are all boxed away apart from the few that are out on display though I do regularly rotate these as best I can. Haven't had Dads O Gauge models out for a while so doing that and taking new pictures too.
O Gauge Class Q6 - 63381 Built by Dad.
Tuesday will be a return to work (at home) but first of all we need to make a trip up to Tesco early morning for shopping plus we need something else for Mrs Hughes as it's her birthday on Wednesday at least we have a couple of other bits ready for that, while for me other birthdays are less of a priority while we are locked down. Managed to get up at 05:40 and done my Tesco shop, wasn't too bad and all sorted for the week, alas the rest of the day wasn't too great, hopefully the rest of the week will be better. Wednesday at least had a decent sleep and trying today to keep busy updating documentation and tickets. At least have food and supplies in but will aim to get out on Thursday or Friday for a little bit for the weekend, went out Thursday and did some shopping which will see me through for now. Feeling a bit sore and so Friday is a quiet day only went out for a walk and posted birthday card for David which is early next week.
Wished my friend Fabrizio a good birthday for Friday and hopefully can find something useful to do over the weekend as we are now on lock down for at least another three weeks.

2020 DIARY WEEK FIFTEEN 6th APR -- 12th APR Isolated WFH #3

Monday and start of a new week (at home). Usually this would be a nice four day working week as we'll have Easter to 'enjoy' and right now as we begin the week I fear it might end up being four days in bed !! Need to get out this week for some supplies, and think that an early run to Tesco one morning would be best. Have also started to catalogue my model trains starting with the N Gauge items, as there's nothing to write up on Dads blog we will need to create some content from the models, so I think doing one or two about his O Gauge items as well should be a good thing to start with and then perhaps look at some of my N Gauge items to do.
Monday, busy start to the week, though have managed to get out and pick up a few supplies too. Including a birthday card for David so am on track with these, and picked up some items for myself for the weekend. Don't have too many dinners and the queues are big but Jean suggested going out early one morning to Tesco and try and get my dinners sorted. Will see if I have enough for the week ahead as going out after Easter might be better all round. Tuesday found it a bit of a struggle and haven't been out today. Good lunch and dinner though and hopefully can complete the week without more drama and worry. Sent a quick mail to Steve Skeats as I haven't done anything for a while there. Had a reply from Steve on Wednesday so will ensure I engage in a little chat again this week. Feeling the pain today though, plenty of non issues coming my way, and I need to step away. Went out and got some shopping in Iceland today which was nice and will see me through the weekend hopefully.
Missing guys, need a beer and a night out

Thursday, sun is out and we pray for a peaceful day though still having to investigate peoples issues with very little to go on but we'll keep trying. Been out for a short walk and sent a few message of support to others. Good Friday, must remember to turn my alarm off till Tuesday! enjoyed listening to the radio and feel bit more rested hopefully both Saturday and Sunday will be much the same.
Keep well and have the best Easter you can in the current circumstances.

2020 DIARY WEEK FOURTEEN 30th MAR -- 5th APR Isolated WFH #2

Clocks gone forward over the weekend and now we set fair for another week at home, after hearing news last Friday about many people being told to stop working I wonder what our future is now. Will see if there is a drop off of people on the stand ups and other meetings or not from Monday and whether we hear any actual confirmation of who is now off? Later in the week we are expecting that our developers / contractors 'Fullfatthings' will come to an end so from 1st April will see what changes there too. Didn't have a great day on Monday it was very cold as well, but I survived it, popped out and picked up couple of things for lunch and also emptied bag of rubbish out. Tuesday the plan will be to go out in morning after the sprint planning call, and go get few supplies if I can, then thinking about Richmond by train on Wednesday or somewhere that I can get some stamps if possible. Thankfully managed to get some in local newsagent store so am sorted, plus managed to pick up few birthday cards so sending one out to Max on Wednesday. Had a good call and chat with team, so Wednesday I won't need to go out on trains will just pop out and use Oyster card (as it's due to expire) to get to shops and get some dinners in to see me through to the weekend.

Cancelled my week off that I had planned in for end of April, this is a sensible move as all events are also postponed with no likelihood of a resumption of football or racing and nowhere to go to really either. Hopefully I can do something nice later in the year. Now we'll see how the latter part of the week goes. Wednesday managed to get out while my Oyster card was still active and get few supplies in shop that should see me through the rest of the week till Monday or Tuesday. Still queuing but it was not too bad and managed to get what I needed then go back on the bus. Work was fine I was keeping myself busy enough, there's just not a lot happening elsewhere sadly. Mrs H's birthday gifts have arrived so that is something positive, also got a couple of birthday cards for later and stamps so we ought to be fine this month. Will be writing up other blogs with all sporting events off and no railway exhibitions or rail tours either we should get some of my models out for a run too. Keep well and safe, we will get through this in time, then plan something fun.
