2017 PART NINETEEN 06/05 -- 12/05

Already into the middle of May and the year flashes by quick as you like. Back into the office after a week off, and now about to reach 2 years in my current job, still a bit unsure about my input and efforts but it's a job and I do my level best and plenty more besides so there's no reason why I cannot carry on here for a while yet. The people are good, it can be fun, the hours are reasonable and it's a decent wage so best to crack on. I average over 5 years in most jobs before redundancy comes knocking so all being well I can mirror at least the last two roles I have held down (10 years and 5 years respectively) which will take us forward in my short to mid term life goals.

Short term, next week will be payday and then I need some funds for an evening out with my brother Graham to Sandown Park. Fingers crossed that I can achieve this aim and have a great night out again. Between now and then though we have to battle through a few weeks and then we can look ahead to June - July, book some days off and go away somewhere.

Received a wedding invite from an old friend Steve he's getting married soon and will be a trip over to Reading, that will be difficult, but not impossible, depending on where the location is in relation to trains. I will get back to him this week and try my best to attend.

Finding the weekends a bit empty now that our league season has ended, I know there are a few games and playoffs plus the FA Cup final to enjoy but they don't include Wimbledon so the interest is not there now. Long summer with no big tournament on this year so maybe I have to take up knitting or reading something good to pass the time better.
