WEEK THREE 16/01 -- 22/01

... eating the last of the cheese and crackers left over from Christmas !!

But more importantly am still off the booze and doing more walking and weights.

Getting through January has felt a lot easier than I recall from recent years, despite the best efforts of South West trains to ruin my commute mornings and some evenings. Even so I feel good, will soon be paid for January and have a good 50th birthday party to attend ... not mine of course, I'm still young. :)

I have found that it really helps my mood and perspective to have several small but important days out or visits planned. Gives me something to look forward to, meeting up with friends or checking out places of interest. It was great to meeting up late last year with an old work colleague and spend a good few hours going around the Natural History Museum. Something I'd promised myself I'd do for years and yet kept putting off. Really enjoyable day out even though it kills your feet as it's massive and plenty to see.

So with that good feeling still fairly fresh in my mind have begun to look at days off to take for the early part of the year, nothing much happening during January or February (50th birthdays aside of course) but will be out for Cheltenham Gold Cup day as usual in March and my own birthday celebrations which see's a few of us attend Ascot races on 27th April and a few days out possibly Brighton or a trip over Beachy Head (no, not off the cliff edge) to Eastbourne.

It's been an enjoyable week again, despite the cold and the best efforts of South West trains. Will now look forward to seeing off January and move planning onwards for the next stages of this year.

Keep warm, keep well.
Be nice ...
